This is the first part of the Temple location series. In this teaching, we will cover the overwhelming evidence concerning the first-century Jerusalem and Temple Mount water supply in order to establish the permanent location of the holy Temple of God. In this installment, we will examine the cistern, conduit and water supply evidence that has been verified through Biblical, Rabbinical, archaeology, history, topography, and geography - as well as primary eye-witness sources from the 1800’s. The purpose of this teaching is to establish that the water supply on the Temple Mount was more than sufficient to support all of its services and functions. We prove this with the evidence of Philo, Josephus, the Tosefta, Mishnah and Talmud, the research of Joseph Good, and the exhaustive underground work of the Palestine Exploration Fund (PEF) during the second half of the 19th century.
I pray that this teaching will give you the answers to your questions and put an end to the speculation about a Temple site in the ancient City of David. Ezekiel 43:10-12 tells us that the mountain upon which the Temple is located is most holy, and that the tavnit (blueprint
or pattern) must be adhered to. In these last days, it is vitally important that we measure the pattern of the House of the Lord and know its services. As the Temple is most holy, we dare not venture into controversies and speculations but must ground ourselves in the first-hand evidence.
